Adrere Amellal
A very Unique experience

At the foot of Siwa’s White Mountain, Adrère Amellal blends into the desert as if it had grown there: hand-built rooms of salt and mud, palm-wood ceilings, and candlelight in place of switches. Nights fall to beeswax and stars; mornings open on lake light and silence.
The lodge keeps technology at the edge so place can take the lead. There’s no electricity in the rooms; kershef walls breathe with the weather, staying cool by day and holding warmth after dark. A spring-fed pool and shaded courtyards turn the heat into a rhythm rather than a hurdle. Dining is local and seasonal, often served in different corners of the property as the light changes.
“Adrère Amellal” means White Mountain in the local Amazigh tongue—a name that fixes the lodge to its landmark and to Siwa’s older story. Conceived by environmentalist Mounir Neamatalla and his team at EQI, it was built to sit lightly on the oasis and to channel its craft traditions. The result is less hotel than habitat.
Days here are simple: a walk among date palms, tea by the salt lake, an hour in the pool, long views to the dunes. When you do go out, the Great Sand Sea, Shali’s ruins, the Oracle Temple, and salt lakes are within easy reach—but the lodge’s quiet has a way of calling you back.
What you book isn’t spectacle so much as a very unique presence: forty singular rooms, candlelit evenings, and a desert address that slows time without trying. Come for the silence; stay for how carefully it’s kept.
